An electromagnetic lock, magnetic lock, or maglock consists of an electromagnet mounted to the door frame and a matching armature plate mounted to the door. When power is applied, the electromagnet generates a magnetic field that securely bonds the armature plate to the lock body, creating a strong locking force. When power is removed, the magnetic bond releases immediately, allowing safe and unrestricted egress.

Manufactured from durable aluminium and designed specifically for fire-rated applications, the FR-U10002 range has been tested to BS EN 1634-1 and is suitable for installation on FD30 and FD60 fire doors. Both models include lock status monitoring with an output for connection to compatible access control systems. Each lock also features LED lock status indication, showing green when unlocked and red when locked. The FR-U10002DSU version additionally includes a door status output.
