The GK231 Series Electric Release Lock is a compact electric strike designed for use with access control systems, door entry systems, intercoms, and electronic locking applications. Suitable for commercial, industrial, educational, healthcare, and public sector environments, it provides reliable remote door release whilst maintaining secure access control.
An electric strike, also known as a rim strike, electric release, or latch release, is installed within the door frame and operates in conjunction with a compatible lock or latch. When activated, the strike mechanism releases the latch, allowing the door to be opened without manual unlocking. Once the door closes, the latch automatically re-engages to restore security.
Manufactured from durable stainless steel, the GK231 Series offers fail-safe operation, a holding force of up to 1500lbs, and side load resistance of up to 500lbs. The range is available in both left-hand and right-hand configurations to suit different door and frame arrangements. FR-GK231 fire-rated versions are also available for compatible fire door applications.
The FR-GK231-L and FR-GK231-R fire-rated versions are designed for compatible fire door installations and are supplied with a 1-hour UK fire certificate.
