An electromagnetic lock, magnetic lock, or maglock consists of an electromagnet mounted to the door frame and a corresponding armature plate fixed to the door. When power is applied, a magnetic field is generated that securely holds the armature plate against the magnet, creating a strong locking force. As these devices are fail-safe, the lock releases automatically when power is removed.
Manufactured with a durable aluminium housing and electroless nickel-plated armature plate, the FR-U10001 range offers a holding force of up to 600lbs (272kg). Both models have been fire tested to BS EN1634-1 and are suitable for installation on FD30 and FD60 fire doors. The FR-U10001DSU version incorporates a door status output providing enhanced monitoring and integration with access control and door management systems.
