An electric strike, also known as a rim strike, electric release, or latch release, is installed within the door frame and operates in conjunction with a compatible lock or latch. When activated, the strike mechanism releases the latch, allowing the door to be opened without manual unlocking. Once the door closes, the latch automatically re-engages to restore security.
Manufactured from durable stainless steel, the FR-GK231 Series offers fail-safe operation, a holding force of up to 1500lbs, and side load resistance of up to 500lbs. The range is available in both left-hand and right-hand configurations to suit different door and frame arrangements.
The FR-GK231-L and FR-GK231-R are fire-rated are designed for compatible fire door installations and are supplied with a 1-hour UK fire certificate. They are tested to BS EN 1634-1.
